praesidus a11
Kudeta Lab, a watch business incubator that launched early this year, accepted the bizarre project by Praesidius, a veteran military watch. Coined after the word “presidium,” a permanent executive committee formed mostly in socialist countries selected for the more extensive legislative body when it is not in session. A-11 is an actual remake watch edition inspired by a real-life experience from a veteran of 101st Airborn’s US Army of World War II named Tom Rice. That watch was worn by Tom back on the night of June 6, 1944, when he was trapped on the empennage of the plane and lost his A-11 watch while jumping over Normandy, France, where D-Day landing is famous.

The authenticity of the watch design and technical features in terms of what was made for the US military back then remains. Using a Seiko NH35 automatic movement and original brown & khaki nylon straps, it also has black and cream colors of the dial with options of 38mm or 42mm case size. This veteran military watch is now available for pre-order since its launch on June 6, for $195 only. The delivery date will be at the end of October 2020. In an interview with Mark Parker on behalf of Kudeta Lab, he said that it was an honor and opportunity to be involved in this project. He was also amazed that at the age of 97, Tom decided to jump again on the 75th D-Day Anniversary.

Tom, who met Remi Chabrat, one of the keys to the leadership of Kudeta Horology Incubator last year, who has been passionate about watches and an action taker, wants to share this project with his co-veterans to support their association. Truly it matches the vision of Praesidus to recognize military contributions by valuing its roots and heritage. Ten percent (10%) of the sales goes to selected veteran associations such as Honor Flight San Diego (HFSD), Screaming Eagle Foundation, WWII Airborne Demonstration Team Foundation, Round Canopy Parachuting Teams in USA and UK (RCPT), Liberty Jump Team, Military Freefall Association (MFFA), and Commemorative Air Force Inland Empire Wing.
